Massage Foundation 700 Hour Certification

This program is for very self-directed people who want a solid foundation in massage therapy in the shortest possible time. This is a thorough training in Swedish and therapeutic massage. This program is designed to provide consolidated, focused instruction in massage, anatomy and physiology, communication skills, clinical exposure, professional development, and group process. Students whose professional aim is to become acupuncturists, Rolfers¨, chiropractors or naturopaths many times start with this program to gain touch skills, a foundation in anatomy, and the communication skills necessary to deal effectively with clients. The 700 hour program is divided into two semesters. The first semester is four and a half months long. During this time students will receive the basic massage techniques and anatomy and physiology for the course. For the last six weeks of the program, the student attends class in the evening from 6-9 pm along with clinic on the weekend. This evening semester is fundamental in the curriculum as the transition from student to therapist. This transition enables the student to network or research requirements to establish a private practice. The class material presented in the evenings supports the development of job hunting and self-promotion skills. The successful student of this program can handle a demanding, fast-paced schedule and has a high saturation level for new information and techniques. Evening Massage Program 700 Hour Certification
Twelve Months Starting September

This program is designed for students who must work during the day or who wish to maintain their current lifestyles while they train for a new profession.The nature of this program requires that students be very self-motivated and focused. During their year in the supportive atmosphere of the Academy, students have time to integrate and work with the material presented. We find the results of this program to be very similar to the 1000 hour program, as the length of time spent in the program seems to make up for the fewer hours of study. Group and individual process matures as students learn communication skills and explore intimacy. The Academy has noted that the transition to private practice is made gracefully in the evening program as there is time for the student to network and to explore possibilities for moving into his / her new profession. 1000 Hour Wholistic Certification
Ten Months September-June

Wholistic Bodywork is for the motivated/dedicated individuals who want to not only get an education in Massage but extend it to specialize in areas such as Medical Massage, Shiatsu and Ortho-Bionomy.
