Contact the Dean of Students for details. PAYMENT OPTIONS The Academy accepts payment in full or the
"Pay as you Study" plan. This plan divides tuition into two or four
payments for the six month programs and into two or eight payments for
longer programs, with a finance charge added. (All payments must be
completed by the time of graduation.) The New Mexico Academy of Healing Arts does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, age, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin. Administration of educational policies, admissions policies, loan programs, rights, privileges, programs, and activities LICENSING The requirements for massage licensure vary. Students are responsible for determining what the current requirements are in the states and municipalities where they intend to practice massage. New Mexico requires a minimum of 650 hours. A student who has graduated from a massage certification program is eligible to take the National Certification Examination in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. A graduate of the polarity program is eligible to apply to the APTA for certification as an Associate Polarity Practitioner or a Registered Polarity Practitioner. JOB PLACEMENT The Academy provides informal assistance to its graduates in their efforts to find employment in the fields of massage and polarity. We keep abreast of the opportunities for employment in Santa Fe and often receive letters (which are posted in our student lounge) regarding employment opportunities in other parts of the country. HOUSING Inexpensive housing in the Santa Fe area fills quickly, so it is important for students to make arrangements early. Our student housing bulletin board lists rooms and houses for rent. Students often team up to share housing. There is one international hostel in Santa Fe. LOCATION The Academy is located at 501 Franklin Avenue in Santa Fe.
