Craniosacral Therapy
Training Program
Craniosacral Training Program • 700 + Hour CertificationCraniosacral therapy engages the body’s natural healing
process through light touch of the craniosacral system (brain, skull, spinal cord, and surrounding cerebrospinal
fluids) easing restrictions to restore bone alignment. Through gentle, non-invasive touch a practitioner releases
craniosacral and fascial restrictions to improve the overall functioning of the central nervous system. Craniosacral
therapy is useful in treating both physical and emotional conditions, including: pain, injury, and trauma to the
head, neck, and back, T.M.J., Fibromyalgia, P.T.S.D., Autism, Scoliosis, and learning disabilities.
This program is excellent for those new to bodywork as well as professional bodyworks in Massage, Polarity, Rolfing,
Acupuncture, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and for Chiropractors.
The 700 + hour Craniosacral certification program is designed and lead by Etienne Peirsman, a master craniosacral
therapist from Belgium and is offered exclusively within the United States at the New Mexico Academy of Healing
Arts.
“Cranio has a lot to do with silence and waiting. It goes the deepest and takes the subtlest route to the core
of our being”—Etienne Peirsman, Craniosacral Therapy Program founder and instructor, Master Craniosacral
Therapist

(Pre-requisites: Basic and Follow-up Courses) |
The Basic Course can be taken as a stand-alone program for
bodyworkers who would like an introduction to Craniosacral Therapy and may not wish to complete the full
certification program, or as the first class in the Craniosacral program series. You will learn how to
become silent enough to listen and feel the inner movements of a person’s body. You will understand how
to approach and interact with the Craniosacral System, and feel the specific cranial rhythm you are most
comfortable with. You will study how the CS system relates to the whole body, enhance your understanding
of fascial intelligence, and gain the ability to do a diaphragm-by-diaphragm release over the whole
body. You will also learn basic cranial lifts and neck releasing techniques. |
|
Birthing pressures on the skull fixate its base into a certain position.
The normal hardening of these bones gives each of us a skull that is locked in this ‘baby’ position.Without intervention, this position stays with us for the rest of our lives. In this class you will
learn techniques to increase the flexibility of the cranial base, allowing the brain to function in the
maximum space available. You will gain the ability to release the trigeminal nerve, opening up new
possibilities of intelligence for yourself and your clients. Finally, you will explore the structures
that keep the dura in place, such as the ethmoid and coccyx complex. |
Each day during the training you will give and receive a
practice session that covers the techniques demonstrated that day. By the end of this class, you will be
able to give a full basic cranial session. |
|
Test #1 (2 hours)
This is a practical
examination where the student demonstrates all techniques learned to date in the program. |
Follow-Up

Talking to the Heart
28 CE hours for
Massage Therapists
26.5 PDA points for Acupuncturists have been approved by the NCCAOM
$580/$520 early bird
(Pre-requisite: Sphenoid) |
This class will connect you with the 3 CS-rhythms and
introduce you to the brain cycle. It will present unwinding techniques and teach you how to open the
heart via the meridians as well as using a thorax release. You will learn how to create still-points,
direct energy, and open the “avenue of expression” in order to connect with your clients using your
“original voice.” You will give and receive a practice session each day. |
|
In this Somato Emotional Trauma Release class, students will learn to
speak with their clients using their “original voice” as well as become able to recognize the
intelligence and voice of cells and organs. You will gain the ability to speak directly to the
structures inside the body without the interference of the chattering mind. You will also learn
techniques for exploring and releasing constrictions in your own and your client’s Heart, allowing both
of you to function more smoothly and express more fully. |

5 Day Advanced Residential • 60 hours •

| 28 CE hours for Massage Therapists$580/$520 early bird |
|
|
This class addresses TMJ Dysfunction and how the sympathetic
and parasympathetic Nervous Systems are interconnected with our brain and impact our general well being. |
|
In this 5-day immersion program students will work in groups of five
deepening their practical skills. Each day every student will receive a full session from the other four
members of their group working on them simultaneously. |
Eye Work
28 CE hours for
Massage Therapists
$580/$520 early bird
This class will look at function and dysfunction in the body’s visual system and how our vision relates
to our defense systems and ability to fully relax. You will learn how to shift the direction of the
energy that comes into your brain from your eyes, giving you a new way to use your vision. We will work
with the brain nuclei, 6 layers of the cortex, and the unwinding of the drag tension that the cerebellum
has on the visual cortex. This is a unique class presenting new developments in cranial understanding
that are not being taught anywhere else. |
|
Final Test • 4 hours •
This is a practical
examination where the student demonstrates all techniques learned in the program. |
Talking To Our Alarm Systems
28
CE hours for Massage Therapists
$580/$520 early bird
This Somato Emotional Release 2 class will explore the reticular alarm system and the total stress
cascade response in the body. Typically when we experience stress, it is the result of the reactions in
the systems which function out of the awareness of our conscious mind. In this class students learn how
these responses occur, and how to take them off “automatic” and interrupt the stress cascade. |
|
Thesis •
The student decides what area of
the cranial field interests them most and writes a 30 page Thesis |
Baby Class
28 CE hours for
Massage Therapists
$580/$520 early bird
In this Somato Emotional Release 3 class students will learn about the different stages of brain growth.
They will re-experience conception, womb-service, delivery, and the first months with mom. They will
also learn techniques for working with soon to be mothers, babies, and small children. The material
presented in this class is thoroughly outlined in Etienne’s book “Cranio for Babies and Small Children”. |

Deep Tissue Release
28 CE hours for Massage Therapists
$580/$520 early bird
Sometimes in order to adequately work on the craniosacral system (C/S system,) a bodyworker needs first
to work deeply with the Ilio-psoas complex, other pelvic muscles, neck muscles, or the respiratory
diaphragm. Students in this class will learn deep tissue techniques to release the myofascial holding
patterns to gain access to the C/S system.
Immune System
The Immune system is governed by Thymus and a whole array of organs such as Spleen, Liver and the total Lymphatic system.
We will learn to clean and revitalise these systems and work with Stem Cells so we can guide them to repair tissues instantly. |

Students who enroll in the Massage Therapy program are interested in a well-rounded holistic foundation building
toward an energetic bodywork practice. Graduates of this program will be eligible to take the National Certification
Examination in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork or the Massage Board Licensing Exam in order to become a licensed
massage therapist.
